What our ulema say about nikah misyar which is popular in saudi arabia which is done as follows- 1. There is an offer and acceptance (Ijab and qabool) 2. There are witnesses from both sides (Man and woman) 3. Man pays Mahr to woman 4. Nikah is not fixed for a period 5. Normally woman is widow or divorced or aged 6. Normally woman is rich who bears her expenses for livelihood or her father bears livelihood 7. Man is not responsible for livelihood(Food house etc) but in some cases man will pay livelihood. 8. Man and woman meet each other from time to time to fullfill their desires 9. This nikah is registered with the government 10. This nikah is kept secret from public. Only the wali of woman knows about this.[07 Mar, 2010]

I married a girl on 18.9.2005 at 2 P. M. on Sunday. It was a registry marriege not a conventional social marriege. On my side, only I was present and I had no witness. On the girl side her father, mother, meternal uncle and an aged relative were present. My question is whether the marriege was legal according to Islamic Law as I had no witness? and whether the time was inauspicious?[18 Feb, 2010]

Its been 5 years now for our marriage and from the last four years Myself and My Wife had differences and during this I fell in love with my sister in law and we both love each other and my sister in law also cannot live without me. When myself and Wife were on the verge of getting separated, I told my wife about my intentions of getting married to her sister.. But the moment I said her about separation, she realised her mistakes and became good.. Now our family and My wife all are aware of our affair.. Because of Changes in my wife I am struck with the Islamic bondings and our family members wants me to continue my marriage.. I am not sure whether I can keep my wife happy and also afraid if my sister in law gets married to other person she will also be in a mess and cannot keep her husband happy.. Please suggest in this situation can I marry both the sisters? or Otherwise what to do? [17 Feb, 2010]
